This photocatalyst sol is synthesized from titanium tetrachloride through neutralization, precipitation, peptisation, and reflux procedures. The properties of TiO2 in the as-synthesized sol are: Solid content – approximately 1 wt% pH – around 7.5 The nano-sized and rod shaped anatase TiO2 particle obtained has the following dimensions: Long axis <20 nm Short axis <10 nm Laboratory tests has proven the effectiveness of a coated substrate antibacterial, air purification, and self-cleaning functions.
