The technology provider's current experience in open cooling cycle processes makes it possible to completely dispense with the previous use of biocides through the use of its technology. A free chlorine concentration of approx. 0.2 mg / l was kept continuous and all biofilms were removed from the system.
The core of this process is the use of new electrodes made of special ceramic material and their innovative structure, which allows open electrolysis with new effects. The special electrodes are chemically inert and thus do not release any ions of their material into the water to be treated.
Depending on the electrode potential, radicals such as oxygen or hydroxyl radicals are formed on the electrode surface from the water molecule, which react again in fractions of a second. In the subsequent reactions, free or bound carbon compounds are oxidized. As a result, microorganisms are killed, simple chemical compounds and free metal ions are oxidized as nanocrystals. These in turn form microcrystals, which serve as condensation nuclei for precipitations. From existing chloride ions, chlorine or chlorine dioxide is formed, which forms a sustainable effect for subsequent disinfections with simultaneous detachment of biofilms.
The effectiveness of the process depends on the electrode surface, the energy input and the treatment time per treatment amount.
The process can be used for both circulatory and flow processes. Bypass methods that allow one and the other are preferred. Recontamination can be prevented if the water circulation and the bypass treatment are not interrupted and can work continuously. Exemplary applications may be cited for rain tanks, pretreated wastewater, and drinking water. In accordance with the very different specific application problems, an individual coordination must be carried out in order to achieve the planned objectives efficiently.
Market Trends and Opportunities
The current state-of-the-art technology requires great chemical and/or technical effort to eliminate bacteria and biofilms in the water treatment systems. The company offers an environmentally friendly solution with our chemical-free technology. The results are that the total bacterial count is reduced by 99% and the biofilms are detached. In addition the process separate dead organic material from the water and thus preventing organic fouling downstream.
Not only will the customer make an ecological contribution to himself and his environment, he will also greatly reduce his costs through economic and technical effects and improve the energy efficiency of the entire system. The operating costs for chemicals are completely eliminated. A simple and low-maintenance handling with simultaneous manageable space requirements is provided. Since the focus is on the customer and their needs, their different system conditions are taken into account and good adaptation possibilities should be possible.
Based on the above-mentioned example of a cooling circuit system, a user was able to save annual biocide costs of approx. SGD 28,000 and significantly improve the efficiency of his heat exchanger.
